General Information on Processing

Personal data is only processed to the extent necessary for the operation of this website, the handling of requests and the provision of services. The legal basis is Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. b GDPR, insofar as processing serves to handle a request or pre-contractual measures, and Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. f GDPR, insofar as there is a legitimate interest in secure and functional operation of this website.

Hosting

This website is hosted on a dedicated server with Hostinger International Ltd., 61 Lordou Vironos str., 6023 Larnaca, Cyprus. Where required, a data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR is in place with the provider.

Server Logs

When the website is accessed, the server records technically necessary information: timestamp, requested address, status code, data transferred, browser identification, referring page and IP address.

The IP address is already shortened when recorded, not later. From 203.0.113.42 it becomes 203.0.113.0, for IPv6 the first two blocks remain. It is thus no longer possible to draw conclusions about a single connection. The logs are changed daily and deleted after fourteen days. The legal basis is Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. f GDPR; the legitimate interest lies in secure operation and the detection of abuse.

Contact

This website has no contact form. Anyone who makes contact does so by email or phone, that is, through their own provider. Only the information contained in the message itself is processed, and exclusively for handling the request.

The legal basis is Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. b GDPR if the request relates to a service or cooperation, otherwise Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. f GDPR. Messages are deleted as soon as the request is completed and no legal retention obligation applies.

Cookies

This website does not set cookies. Neither technically necessary ones nor those for statistics or advertising. Measured against the current page: zero cookies.

A single entry is stored in the browser's local storage when switching between light and dark display. It is called mh-theme and contains the word light or dark. It is only set when the switch itself is activated, it is not transmitted and it does not contain any personal data. No consent is required for this because it is an explicitly desired function. If you want to remove it, delete the website data in your browser.

External Services, Fonts and Embeds

The fonts are on the same server as the website; no third-party font service is used. There are no embedded maps, no embedded videos and no social media buttons.

The texts and images of this website are maintained in an editorial system running at cc.hansgrafik.com and operated by the same provider as the website itself. The server retrieves the texts from there before delivering the page; nothing from your browser goes there. However, your browser retrieves the images directly from this address. In doing so, as with any file download on the Internet, your IP address, browser identification and the requested image address are transmitted. The legal basis is Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. f GDPR; the legitimate interest lies in delivering images in the appropriate size rather than requiring every device to download the same large file.

The Instagram account is linked to, but not embedded. The posts shown are retrieved in advance and stored as image files on this server, so no script from Meta is loaded and no connection is made when viewing the page.

The retrieval itself takes place at fixed intervals on the server, not in the browser and not triggered by a visit. Only the access credentials of the Instagram account are transmitted to Meta in order to retrieve the account's own posts. Nothing about visitors to this website reaches Meta: neither IP address nor browser identification, not even the fact that someone accessed the page. The legal basis is Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. f GDPR; the legitimate interest lies in displaying one's own work up to date without using an embedding script.

Visit Counting

This website counts how often its pages are accessed. To do this, your browser reports to cc.mike.laconis.be once after loading a page which page you are viewing. If you click on email, phone, Instagram or the project inquiry button, it is also reported which of these elements was clicked. No cookies are set and nothing is stored in your browser.

Only a summary per day and hour is stored: page accessed, approximate country of origin, device category (mobile device, tablet, computer) and, if you came from another website, its address. Your IP address is not stored. It is used to determine the country of origin and then enters into a non-reversible checksum that recognizes repeat visits within the same day. This checksum contains the date of the day and a secret additional identifier; it is different the next day and cannot be assigned to any person. Recognition over multiple days is thus excluded. These checksums are deleted after 90 days; the summaries are retained without personal reference.

The legal basis is Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. f GDPR. The legitimate interest lies in identifying which work and services are in demand without tracking the behavior of individual persons. Anyone who does not want counting can disable JavaScript for this page; the page remains fully readable and nothing is counted anymore.

External Links

This website links to external pages, in particular to the Instagram account. When you click on such a link, you leave this website. The data processing on the destination page is solely the responsibility of its provider.

Recipients of Data

Data is only shared to the extent necessary for processing a request, where a legal obligation exists or explicit consent has been given. Recipients can include the hosting provider and the email provider through which notifications are sent. In addition, there is the editorial system at cc.mike.laconis.be, to which your browser transmits data when retrieving images and during visit counting. It runs on the same server as this website and is operated by the same provider; the data thus does not leave the circle mentioned above.

Storage Duration

Personal data is stored only as long as necessary for the respective purpose. Server logs are deleted after fourteen days, requests as soon as they are completed and no legal retention obligation applies.

Your Rights

Within the scope of legal provisions, the rights to information, correction, deletion, restriction of processing, data portability, objection to processing and withdrawal of given consent with effect for the future apply. A message to the address mentioned above is sufficient to exercise these rights.

Right to Complain

You have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. In Belgium, the competent authority is the Data Protection Authority, Rue de la Presse 35, 1000 Brussels, dataprotectionauthority.be.
